For the first time ever Kropyvnytskyi city (the capital of Ukrainian baseball) hosts competition of the high European level - European baseball championship 2018. Qualifying tournament of the European championship in the "C" group was successfully launched last Monday on the Kropyvnytskyi baseball field. National teams from Hungary, Romania, Georgia and Estonia came to fight for a single ticket to the group "B" with the Ukrainian national team. In addition, this tournament will be the start of selection for the Olympic Games that will be held in Tokyo in 2020.
Baseball field that meets all requirements of the European Baseball Confederation was prepared and opened thanks to the active support of the regional leaderships, the head coach of the Ukrainian national team and member of the CEB Executive Committee Oleg Boyko, the president of the national baseball and softball federation Andriy Nikolaenko, as well as the significant assistance of the general sponsor of the national team of Ukraine, the “BioTexCom” company.
During the championship opening Ukrainian baseball arena was chock blocked with baseball fans and everyone looked really happy. By the way, one of the visitors of the VIP- lounge became a pleasant surprise for Kropyvnytskyi residents. Their fellow countryman, the world super model Alina Baikova has also visited the championship. She likes baseball and actively supports the national team of Ukraine.
