From the first sigh, 10-year-old Zion Harvey from Philadelphia is no different from his peers. He is active and likes to play baseball. But Zion has a secret; his hands were removed and replaced with transplants.
In 2015 at the Children’s Hospital in Philadelphia, Zion Harvey has a double hand transplantation surgery. For 18 months doctors conducted various tests and fought with the risk of rejection of implants and their acceptance by boy’s brain. And now, since a year and a half after the surgery, Zion can write, eat and dress himself, as well as grip a baseball bat. Being a true baseball fan, Zion never gave up on trying handling the bat. He keeps practicing and now he is playing favorite sport like a professional baseball player.
