Final Dutch Roster announced including former Major Leaguers Bernadina, Martis

The Royal Dutch Baseball and Softball Association (KNBSB) revealed their final roster for the 2016 European Championship in Hoofddorp on Wednesday. The team, which just had won the Yoshida Challenge with four wins in four games, now also includes a couple of pro players.
The biggest reinforcements from MLB organizations are certainly outfielder Roger Bernadinaand starting pitcher Shairon Martis, who both had more than just a cup of coffee in the big leagues. Additionally catcher Chadwick Tromp, as well as infielders Stijn van der Meer andCurt Smith are new on the roster compared to Senart.
Another big name obviously can be found on the coaching staff with former MLB All-Star and regular Gold Glove winner Andruw Jones as bench coach.
On paper the Netherlands certainly can field the best team in the tournament and should be considered as favorite for the European Championship, which starts on Friday. The Dutch team faces Great Britain, Germany, Sweden, Russia and Czech Republic in Pool A during first round play. At the Yoshida Challenge they beat Germany 12-4 and 5-3.
