Italy lost their first warm-up game for the 2017 World
Baseball Classic during training camp at Fitch Park in Mesa, Arizona.
Alex Liddi and Stefano Desimoni had key hits for Italy, which led 4-3 in the
ninth inning. The Squadra Azzurri fell 4-5 to the LG Twins from the Korea
Baseball Organisation. Both teams
will meet again before Italy takes on the Chicago Cubs and Oakland Athletics in
their final exhibition games prior to the WBC next week.
