WBC 2017 Final: USA shuts out Puerto Rico to win 1st World Baseball Classic Title

In a championship game the United States finally have captured a World Baseball Classic title. Team USA beat Puerto Rico 8-0 at a near-sellout crowd at Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles. Marcus Stroman and the American bullpen led the way by combining to allow just three Puerto Rican hits in the game.
For the USA its their first world title since the 2009 Baseball World Cup and the first win in four World Baseball Classics. Japan (2) and the Dominican Republic had won the first three events. Puerto Rico is finishing in second place for the second time in a row. They had reached the final as only undefeated team.
At the plate Ian Kinsler opened the scoring with a two-run home run in the third. RBI singles by Christian Yelich, Andrew McCutchen (2 RBI overall), Brandon Crawford (2 RBI) and Giancarlo Stanton extended the lead afterwards.
