The
spring tournament of the European Major Leagues academies started in Sant Boi
last week.
Czech
Republic, Netherlands, Italy, Germany and France, as well as “European
selection” team of players from European countries are among the competitors.
175 baseball players aged from 15 to 19 take part in the “MLB Academies
Tournament” this year. 21 games will be played during the seven-day tournament.
It
must be noted there are two Ukrainian players from the Kropyvnytskyi city among
the competitors. Pitcher George Gvritishvili and catcher Viacheslav Babii
became the players of the “European selection” team. Last season George has
already participated in the MLB Summer Camp which took place also in Sant Boi.
