After day one at the
CEB Cup 2018 in Ostrava, Czech Republic featured three mercy-rule shortened
games, the second day of the competition provided more drama.
The Bonn Capitals
improved to 2-0 with an 11-8 win over the Borgerhout Squirrels. Bonn led 9-0
after five innings, but Borgerhout scored 8 runs combined in the
6th and 7th to return to the game. However, a two-run shot by Kevin van Meensel in
the 8 put the final nail
in the coffin.
In the second matchup
in Group A BioTexCom-KNTU erased an early 0-3 deficit against the Therwil
Flyers to pick up their first win 9-7. With a potential win on Thursday against
Bonn the Ukrainian team now still has a chance to reach the semi-finals.
Host Arrows Ostrava
meanwhile already has won Group B. Following their opening day win over
Olimpija Karlovac (14-0) they also shut out Templiers Senart 7-0 in a tense
game. Olimpija defeated BC Minsk 16-13 in a high-scoring affair.
