Major League Baseball is hoping to one day play some regular season games in London. The European continent has never hosted a Major League Baseball game although Amsterdam, The Netherlands has a major league stadium and an attempt to play a 1992 pre-season game between the New York Mets and St. Louis Cardinals was cancelled as the owners and players could not figure out how much money the players needed to disrupt spring training and sell the game in Spain.
Europeans can bet on baseball along with many other sports across the continent but there is not much in the way of Major League Baseball merchandise available except from internet stores. But if MLB owners have their way, the game might take root in United Kingdom.
