This is not the most popular game in the Czech Republic, but here baseball fans can be found as well.
Probably the best place to start is the Czech Baseball Association of Baseball. The best teams play in Extra League that consists of eight teams. Two of them – Tempo Titans Praha і Krč Altron – are based in Prague. Typically, the season begins in April and lasts until early September, and then final games (playoffs) are held, ending in October. The most unlucky team can be named AVG Draci Brno, which ranks 13th place in the national ranking. In Českomoravská league 12 baseball teams play. And again two of them are from Prague: Kotlářka Praha і SaBaT Praha. The official website contains little information in English. Basically, it’s about the World Baseball Championship among universities. It is held every year and this year 13 teams were registered from Venezuela, Japan, Canada and the USA. Competitions were held this summer, but none of the games took place in Prague.
Baseball Week in Prague – competition of the international level and it is held on the Krč Altron fields. This year’s competition also took place in the summer. 9 teams were registered; three of them were from Czech, and three – from the United States. Last year, ESPN included this tournament in its list of “Best baseball competitions” (under the 7th number).
