World Port Tournament Recaps Day 4, July 4, 2017


The World Port Tournament 2017 continued on Tuesday with two games.In the afternoon Japan claimed its second win in three games at the international baseball tournament, defeating Chinese Taipei 2-1. Kenta Morinaka drove in both runs for Japan in the fourth and sixth inning. Takahiro Yamamoto threw seven innings for the win.
In the evening affair the Netherlands prevailed 6-1 over the previously unbeaten Cuban team. The Dutch team scored in four of the first five innings en route to the victory. Gianison Boekhoudt and Remco Draijer had two RBI apiece for the Netherlands.
This Wednesday the first round at the WPT ends with matchups between Curacao and Chinese Taipei as well as the Netherlands and Japan.
