CEB Cup 2017 in BrnoPrague Recaps Day 1, June 7, 2017

The CEB Cup 2017 commenced on Wednesday in Brno and Prague, Czech Republic. Four games were on the schedule, two in Brno and two in Prague.
Nada SM Split and Draci Brno won in Pool B, while the Templiers Senart and Olimpija Karlovac prevailed in Pool A.
Therwil Flyers – Nada SM Split 7-11
Nada SM Split scored eight runs in the first two frames to beat the Therwil Flyers 11-7 in the first game in Brno on Wednesday afternoon. Gregory Mosel pitched the complete game, throwing 175 pitches. Marin Tadic drove in four for Split, David Castillo went deep for Therwil. Chris Horne got charged with the loss.
Templiers Senart – BioTexCom KNTU 3-2
The Templiers Senart defeated BioTexCom 3-2 in the first game in Prague on Wednesday afternoon. After KNTU tied the game 1-1 in the top of the eighth, the Templiers answered with two in the bottom. The Ukrainian champion scored again in the ninth, but wasn’t able to complete the comeback. Matthieu Brelle-Andrade went the distance to pick up the win. Vitalii Chukhrii took the loss in relief.
Draci Brno – Minsk 12-2
Draci Brno scored in six of the eight innings played to beat BC Minsk 12-2 in eight innings. Terrell Joyce led the way, missing the cycle by a single by going 4-for-4 with two home runs, three runs scored and six RBI. Ondrej Furko pitched six strong innings for the win. Yauheni Kisliakou got charged with the loss.
Olimpija Karlovac – Eagles Prague 11-3
Olimpija Karlovac scored five runs in the first two innings and five in the eighth on their way to an 11-3 victory over the Eagles Prague. Mitch Keim struck out seven in seven innings and also went deep at the plate and drove in three. Kruno Gojkovic had three RBI as well. Joe Wittig scored twice for the Eagles. Simon Blazek took the loss.
