Federations Cup Qualifier Stockholm CBS Sant Boi beats Kaunas to win Trophy

CBS Sant Boi went back to back years to win a Federations Cup Qualifier.On Saturday afternoon they defeated Kaunas Lituanica 4-1 in the final of the Federations Cup Qualifier in Stockholm, Sweden.
With the win the Spanish Federation gains a spot in the Federations Cup in 2018.
Sant Boi already had won a Federations Cup Qualifier last year, but due to finishing second in the Spanish Division de Honor the Astros Valencia took the won spot in the Federations Cup, while Sant Boi once again had to play a Qualifier.
In the final at the home field of the Stockholm Monarchs, Anthony Vizcaya struck out 14 batters in a complete game win. He allowed just one run on five hits and a walk. Daniel Martinez, Jesus Golindano, Ruben Fente and Daniel Matias scored Sant Boi’s runs. Marijus Dargis issued three hits, four runs (1 ER) and two base on balls in 6 2/3 innings to take the loss.
During the closing ceremony Ruben Fente was named Best Batter, Pietro Sollecito (London Mets) as Best Pitcher and Daniel Martinez as MVP.
