Only a couple of days after announcing the departure of Don Freeman as head coach, the Munich-Haar Disciples presented his replacement.
29-year-old Philipp Howard, brother of Munich-Haar’s general manager Christopher Howard, is succeeding the US-American. Philipp Howard, who transferred from the Buchbinder Legionaere to the Heidenheim Heidekoepfe last year, retired at the end of the 2016 season.
Howard already helped the Disciples occasionally as assistant coach. He will take over as head coach of the German Baseball-Bundesliga squad of the club. Ruben Manriquez is taking over the second team. Howard will be supported by Joshua Petersen, Tim Willeford and newly Ryan Bollinger, who is taking over as pitching coach.
