In the Dutch Hoofdklasse three games were played on
Thursday evening.
Former minor leaguer Lars Huijer struck out 12 batters
in a seven-inning one-hitter. He allowed just one hit and a walk through seven
frames, as the Hoofddorp Pioniers beat DSS 12-0.
L&D Amsterdam defeated the De Glaskoning Twins
11-0 in seven innings. Kevin Heijstek pitched through the whole seven innings,
working in and out of trouble, but keeping the scoreboard clean. Gilmer Lampe
went deep and collected four RBI.
In the third matchup Curacao Neptunus Rotterdam beat
HCAW 4-2. Boyd Tuhumury and Roelie Henrique gave Bussum a 2-0 advantage in the
fifth. But Rotterdam tied the game through RBI singles by Jochem Koedijk and
Stijn van der Meer in the seventh. One frame later Ruar Verkerk and Daniel
Fernandes had RBI singles to break the tie and to seal the comeback win.
