Jair Jurrjens suspended for testing positive


Dutch right-hander Jair Jurrjens tested positive for exogenous testosterone and got suspended for 80 games by Major League Baseball.

The 31-year-old, who played for the Netherlands in the 2017 World Baseball Classic, had signed a minor league contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers this past spring training. Last year he played in the Chinese Professional Baseball League in Taiwan.

He last pitched on June 7, allowing four runs in just two innings against Iowa. There are 77 games remaining in Oklahoma City’s season, so Jurrjens is done for 2017, and his suspension will carry over three games into 2018.
