In the Dutch Hoofdklasse playoffs week one of the round robin is in the books. L&D Amsterdam and Curacao Neptunus look poised to play each other in the Holland Series, sweeping their opening series against the Hoofddorp Pioniers and HCAW.
Amsterdam completed the sweep with a 4-1 victory on
Sunday. Robin Schel pitched six strong innings for the win. Luuk ter Beek got
charged with the loss. Dudley Leonora accounted for the lone Pioniers run with
a solo home run.
Curacao Neptunus meanwhile beat HCAW 8-2. A six-run
rally in the sixth blew the score open. Gregory Muller scored three runs, while
Jochem Koedijk went 3-for-3 with three RBI. Ian Delemarre took the loss.
