Europeans in the Majors & Minors

It’s been another eventful couple of weeks following European minor leaguers. Another name has been added to the list. Here’s the latest!

The pair of European everyday major league players continue their steady play, while the big news of the last two weeks was Dovydas Neverauskas of Lithuania recording his first major league win against the San Diego Padres.

Didi Gregorius, Netherlands. New York Yankees
The Yankees shortstop has an active 6 game hitting streak, having multiple hits on four of those days. He has 18 home runs on the year.

Andy Paz, France. Midland Rockhounds
Paz has played only twice in the last two weeks, getting a hit in each game with a run scored and 2 RBI. He’s played 50 games this season at Double-A in this, his seventh season in the Oakland system. He’s hitting .253 with a .304 on-base percentage.

Sven Schüller, Germany. Rancho Cucamonga Quakes
The 21 year old from Wuppertal has made 3 appearances in the last two weeks, with 6 hits and 10 strikeouts in 7 innings of work. He has a 1.97 ERA.

Marten Gasparini, Italy. Lexington Legends
Gasparini has managed only four hits through his last 10 games, with one home run, one walk, one stolen base, and 13 strikeouts. His full season numbers stand at .242/.286/.382 with 9 home runs and 17 stolen bases.
